"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
With experience with working with families, couples, and individuals, I have the skills needed to address concerns ranging from anxiety and depression, to LGBTQ issues and couples conflict resolution.
I believe that every client has a story that connects them with those in their personal worlds, whether it is a beneficial or detrimental connection. In therapy, I work to empower the client to unpack parts of their story that are heavy, stuck, or unclear. I strive to assist the client in becoming free of the parts of the story that no longer work for them, and empower them to continue this work throughout their lives.
After graduating with my MA in MFT from ULM, I worked as a therapist in an in-home setting with at-risk youth. I also worked with collegiate level students in counseling and career sectors at Louisiana Tech University. Both have proven to be very rewarding areas of therapy, and have increased my ability to learn from all that my clients present to me.
I love to learn. A therapist can be misconstrued as an expert, and it is possible that in our chosen model of therapy, we are an expert. However, therapy is collaborative, meaning the client is the expert on their own life and I enjoy learning about how to help my clients become empowered, clear, and free just as much as I hope they enjoy joining in the therapy process with me.
I met my sweet, loving husband in graduate school at ULM and we enjoy traveling together. I also enjoy reading, working out, building mentor relationships with youth, and spending time with family and friends.
